Storm Warning by Billy Graham

The recently updated and released Storm Warning by the great evangelist, Billy Graham, is an interesting look at history and the end times events described in the Bible.  This book provides a thought-provoking analysis of how world events can be mapped to the Biblical end times, and looks ahead to describe the events to come before the end of the age.

The book describes the environmental and cultural changes in the last generation, highlighting a quote by Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Louis Sullivan: “I am troubled by diminishing confidence in our willingness and ability as a society and individuals to make sound judgments about healthy human behavior and lifestyles.  Linked to this declining faith in ethical and value judgment is an erosion of those institutions that have generated, shaped and sustained our ethical and cultural standards – family, neighborhood, church, school, and voluntary associations.”

Graham goes on to describe how cultural changes seem to fit the description of the Biblical end times symbolism, describing common interpretations of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, the seven seals and more.  The book concludes with a description of  the ultimate reign of Christ and the hope for all Christians who will reign with him.  In the process, many Bible passages are highlighted, including scriptures that remind us of our responsibilities to evaluate claims made by others, and the promise that the road to heaven is not always paved with spiritual and material rewards.
